Buffett is the perfect concert to bring in a warm fall season, providing lots of fun in music that doesn't cut all that deep, but what the hell? It's summer. And with a start of ""Why Don't We Get Drunk (And Screw)" and Van Morrison's "Brown Eyed Girl," Buffett and his very fine Coral Reefer Band were up and running.

Buffett cutely introduces almost every song, making it clear what he is about to play. He also played to the local crowd, apparently having spent a lot of time among the boating set in this wealthy Rhode Island city, making numerous local references. This was not your typical gratuitous attempt at ingratiating oneself with the locals either.Read the full story here

The wind was the only thing that was cold Sunday night at Journal Pavilion after Carlos Santana left the stage.

Though the audience was cold and damp from the rain, that soon changed when Santana warmed us up and showed why he's a rock legend and nine-time Grammy winner. As soon as he hit the stage, after opening act Robert Randolph and the Family Band, he was in full command of his band, his guitar, and mostly the audience. Most of all, though, Santana had full control of his own faculties and seemed to be completely relaxed during the band's nearly two-hour set.Read the full story here

Luis Miguel will bring his show to Chula Vista on September 21st. Here is a review of his previous show in Concord CA.

Luis Miguel is said to be the Frank Sinatra of the latin music world, and on Friday night, he looked the part, too. The best way to describe the evening: controlled chaos. Luis was forty-five minutes late starting and the concert goers were getting restless as they hissed and clapped for Luis to grace the stage. Finally at eight-forty-five, the venue lights went off and the consoles on stage lit up as Luis Miguel made a thunderous arrival on stage. His band which consists of all men - is truly a precious commodity to Luis and the best at what they do. The night started off with “Que Nivel De Mujer” that quickly ensued into a medley of, “Con Tus Besos,” “Suave,” and “Dame,” a song during which a woman threw her undergarments on stage at Luis; not uncommon to witness at one of his concerts.
